Arts on the Go - Educational Outreach

Welcome to The Center for the Art's 4th year of "Arts on the Go," created by the Center's staff , along with design consultant, Thomas Hannon, and academic support from James Amaral at Bennett Elementary School. We are pleased to be able to reach out to many more school children than ever this year. There will be 2 modules which will circulate among 20 schools throughout the 2008-2009 school year. Each school will have a module for approximately 2 weeks.

Each module is a self-contained interactive exhibit, which enables the Center for the Arts and the program's sponsor,  SCIENCEPORT, Northern Virginia's Science Center to take the art room directly into the school, while reflecting and supporting specific 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade science, math and art Standards of Learning. Our goal is to enrich the curriculum by adding an artistic element and giving students creative hands-on activities to complement science and math lessons they are learning in the classroom. Each module measures about 6.5' high by 12' wide and comprises three bookcase type walls which stand alone.
