Due to popular demand the Center will be holding its
first country Western Line Dance on April 13 from 2-5pm.
The 2nd Sunday Country Western Line Dances will include
new dances as well as your old favorites. Cost is $12
per person at the door.

4-6pm 3rd Sunday of each month
Join the fabulous dance session on the 3rd Sunday of
every month from 4:00 pm-6:00 pm on the gorgeous floors
of the Kellar Theater at the Candy Factory. Co hosted
by Dale & Anita Strawser and Jim & Peggy Kiesel,
the dances will include a half hour two step dance
lesson followed by an open dance session where you
can practice what you’ve just learned or refine the
steps you already know!
$10 per person at the door.
Sunday Country Dance Instructor Bios
Dale & Anita Strawser
met and began social dancing together in 1993 and became
amateur dance competitors in 1994. They are members of
the National Dance Council of America (“Ballroom” dance
styles) and the United Country Western Dance Council
(“Country” dance styles), and are in process of becoming
certified judges. They hold the UCWDC World Title for
Classic Couples Diamond Division I, Stockholm, Sweden.
They are also owners of International Dance Productions,
LLC, which has hosted the US National Dance
Championships in the DC area, an event that offers 14
different dance styles, from ballroom, country, and
swing, to Latin, tango, and hand-dance. In addition,
they have hosted dance cruises, the most recent being a
dance cruise in Hawaii.
Jim
and Peggy Kiesel began teaching as a team in 1991,
having studied with numerous nationally recognized
Country and Swing instructors, as well as local ballroom
teachers. Jim has taught Hustle in the DC/MD/VA area
since 1976, as well as American Style Ballroom and Latin
for 8 years during the 1970's and 80's. Jim and Peggy,
as a team, competed in the United Country Western Dance
Council circuit for several years, winning the World
Title for Couples Division I in the early 90’s, and have
coached and created the choreography for a number of
competitive couples competing in national contests over
the past 10 years. In addition, they are well known for
their nine years of dance classes at Blackie’s in
Springfield Virginia.
Barry Fink - Country Line Dance
Instructor Barry Fink became an active and enthusiastic country
dancer in the early 70’s. He began teaching beginner
line dance workshops in 1993 which soon lead to a
regular weekly class which ran for over 12 years. Over
the last 14 years he has attended numerous workshops
taught by many of the best known line dance
choreographer/instructors in the world today.
