The Center’s Theatre Outreach Program targets
at-risk youth, working to equip them with the skills
needed to break the cycle of failure and inappropriate
behavior they have historically experienced. The program,
which is held at the PWC Group Homes for Girls, Group
Home for Boys and the Juvenile Day Reporting Center,
uses traditional theatre techniques as a backdrop for
providing positive lifestyle changes. Integrated into
the program are resources that assist with problem solving
skills, appropriate behavior, sensitivity and conflict
resolution. This program is designed to help young people
develop self-expression, self-esteem, self-confidence
and a greater understanding of the self, the world and
their behavior.
