The
Center for the Arts' nationally recognized Pied Piper
Theatre (PPT), welcomes young people ages 8 through 18 to
explore the world of theatre both on the stage and behind
the curtain. Offering three fully staged musical presentations
a year, this award-winning children's theatre provides
dramatic and musical theatre training while building
confidence, responsibility, and self-esteem.
Hundreds of extraordinarily talented youth have performed
in the last two decades in such popular musical productions
as Cinderella, Annie, Peter Pan, Oliver!,
Robin Hood and
The Wizard of Oz. PPT offers a training program in technical
theatre, providing opportunities for students to learn
stage management, set design, lighting, and sound. From
the classics to award winning
musical presentations such as Willy Wonka, Jr
and Charlotte's Web. PPT provides the best in entertainment
for the entire family.
DIRECTOR/CHOREOGRAPHER—Jann Crawford is thrilled to be bringing Geppetto & SON to the stage. Ms. Crawford received her Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Modern, Hula & Tahitian Dance training while growing up in Hawaii. She furthered her dance education attending the University of Hawaii as well as Washington State University. She has taught dance and served as Choreographer in various productions throughout the U.S. and Korea. Her choreography credits include stage productions of Scrooge, Alice in Wonderland, Nunsense, Dracula, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, A Chorus Line, and The Wiz as well as PPT’s productions of The Jungle Book, Sleepy Hollow, Cinderella, Dr. Dolittle, The Wizard of Oz and Peter Pan. Jann has also taught dance for PPT’s Summer Theatre Camps. Other theatre credits include prop, set, sound & costume design for various productions. Ms. Crawford made her directing debut with PPT in the 2009 production of Alice in Wonderland. Working with children in creative pursuits is a lifelong PASSION for Ms. Crawford. Jann says “if children are the promise of the future, then all adults carry the responsibility of passing along not only the breadth of their knowledge, but also the key to unlocking even more possibilities.”
